Durban, Umhlanga – A grieving widow is calling for justice after her husband tragically lost his life following a road rage incident at Cornubia Mall’s parking lot in April 2024.

According to the widow, a young Indian man driving in the wrong lane attacked her and their daughter while they were in their car. Her husband, who had stepped out towards the mall, rushed back upon hearing the commotion. As he tried to stop the attacker from fleeing, the suspect intentionally ran him over.

Security guards managed to block the suspect from escaping, but despite the seriousness of the crime, the accused was granted bail and is currently walking free.

The victim suffered severe internal bleeding and brain damage, spending four months in hospital unable to walk or talk before tragically succumbing to his injuries. He never got the chance to witness his daughters' first birthday.

Now, as the case drags on at Verulam Court, the widow fears that justice will not be served. The accused is seeking to have the case withdrawn on March 28, 2025, leaving the family devastated.

She is urgently calling on the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Cornubia Mall’s security team to release the full CCTV footage of the attack, hoping it will prevent the accused from escaping justice.

The case has sparked outrage on social media, with users demanding accountability from law enforcement and the judicial system. The widow remains determined, saying:

"No woman deserves this pain. My husband was a loving father, and all I want is justice for him."
