📍 Cottonlands, KZN – A 40-year-old man was found dead in his vehicle at his residence in Cottonlands, KwaZulu-Natal, after committing suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning on Monday.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to the scene after a relative made the tragic discovery. Upon arrival, officers found a blue Toyota Corolla in the garage with one end of a washing machine drain pipe connected to the vehicle’s exhaust and the other end pushed through the rear window.

A family member told RUSA that the deceased’s employer had called earlier to check on him, as he had not reported for work. Concerned, the family decided to conduct a wellness check and went to his residence. They found the vehicle idling in the garage and, after further investigation, discovered the man’s lifeless body in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was switched off, and emergency services were called for assistance.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Authorities are continuing investigations.
