Three Men Accused of Attempted Murder Granted Bail

The Orkney Magistrates’ Court has postponed the case against three men accused of attempted murder to 24 February 2025, to allow for further investigations. The accused, Hanyane Ronauld Mei (47), Danile Nxamakele (35), and Pitso Radebe (47), appeared in court yesterday and were granted bail ranging from R1,000 to R1,500 each.

The three men surrendered to the police on 24 December 2024, and were subsequently charged with attempted murder. During the bail hearing, Mei and Radebe were granted bail of R1,500 each, while Nxamakele was granted bail of R1,000.

As part of their bail conditions, the accused are required to report to the Jouberton Police Station daily between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. They are also prohibited from interfering with witnesses or the complainant until the case is finalized.

The court's decision to grant bail has sparked various reactions, with the community closely monitoring the progress of the case.
