Political analyst Dr. Levy Ndou emphasizes the importance of addressing corruption allegations against Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, with urgency. This follows increasing pressure on President Cyril Ramaphosa to act on accusations that Ntshavheni allegedly benefitted from a R2.5 million tender during her tenure as manager of the Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality in Limpopo.
Ndou underscores the gravity of the situation, stating, "Corruption-related allegations, particularly involving high-ranking politicians, demand immediate and thorough investigation."
In a similar vein, political analyst Sandile Swana has criticized Ramaphosa's approach to appointing ministers, urging the President to avoid appointing individuals implicated in corruption. Swana remarked, "The President must prioritize professional ethics and integrity when selecting Cabinet members. It’s troubling that Ntshavheni’s alleged involvement in these issues was known yet disregarded. Such decisions undermine public trust and moral leadership."
Calls for accountability have grown, with opposition parties like the Democratic Alliance urging Ntshavheni to step down while the allegations are investigated.
