Missing Teen Buhle Precious Mpuma Found Safe

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Free State has confirmed that 14-year-old Buhle Precious Mpuma, who went missing on Sunday, 19 January 2025, has been found safe and unharmed.

Buhle, a resident of Riebeckstad, disappeared after leaving her parents’ home to visit a shopping mall in Thabong. Her sudden disappearance prompted a search operation by the SAPS and the local community, as well as public appeals for information.

According to a media statement released by the SAPS, Buhle returned home on Wednesday, 22 January 2025, at approximately 18:00.

Description and Search Efforts

Buhle was described as being dark in complexion, short in height, with dimples on her cheeks and short black hair. She was last seen wearing a black, yellow, and pink t-shirt, black-and-white trousers, and white Crocs shoes.

Authorities, led by Detective Sergeant Jane Finger of the Thabong Detective Services, worked tirelessly to locate the missing teen, with the broader community playing an instrumental role in the search efforts.

Investigation Continues

While Buhle has been safely reunited with her family, police have stated that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain under investigation.

The SAPS has extended their gratitude to the community for their assistance in the case.
