PORT SHEPSTONE – A tragic incident unfolded this morning when a 31-year-old woman was fatally stabbed, allegedly by her boyfriend, following an argument.
Reports indicate that the victim was returning home from a tavern with her boyfriend and another friend when tensions escalated between the couple.
As they neared her residence, the victim sought help from a neighbor, stating that her boyfriend had threatened to kill her. The neighbor intervened, and the boyfriend appeared to have calmed down, even requesting water.
However, while the neighbor went to fetch the water, the suspect allegedly attacked the woman, stabbing her multiple times in the neck and throat. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the altercation stemmed from jealousy, as the boyfriend reportedly accused the victim of being in the company of two men earlier in the evening.
The 36-year-old suspect has fled and is currently at large. Authorities have launched a manhunt and are appealing to the public for information.
