Western Cape police have made significant strides in combating crime, successfully recovering firearms, ammunition, and narcotics in separate incidents that led to the detention of three suspects. Revolver Seized in Saxonsea

On Tuesday, 24 December 2024, Atlantis police acted on a tip-off regarding an illegal firearm stored at an address on Sacramento Street in Saxonsea. Acting swiftly, officers conducted a thorough search of the property, resulting in the discovery of a revolver and accompanying ammunition. A 25-year-old male was detained and now faces charges for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

Arrest Following Pursuit in Kraaifontein

The Kraaifontein Crime Prevention Unit was on patrol in Bharu Street on Wednesday, 25 December 2024, when they noticed a man carrying a suspicious object. Upon spotting the officers, the man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. A subsequent search revealed a 9mm pistol and ammunition. The 22-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Drug Bust in Browns Farm

In an unrelated incident, police attached to Operation Shanela conducted stop-and-search operations in Browns Farm on 25 December 2024. Acting on information about drug dealing, officers raided a residence on Dweza Street. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 88 sachets of methamphetamine and cash believed to be proceeds of illegal activity. A 27-year-old female was detained for dealing in drugs.
