President Ramaphosa Announces Cabinet Reshuffle

President Cyril Ramaphosa has made key adjustments to the national executive to enhance its efficiency in fulfilling its mandate, as empowered by the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. The announcement reflects the President’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership in delivering on government priorities.

In line with Section 91(2) of the Constitution, the following ministerial changes have been made:

  1. Mmamoloko Tryphosa Kubayi has been reassigned from her role as Minister of Human Settlements to serve as the new Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development.

  2. Thembi Nkadimeng, previously the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, will now take over as Minister of Human Settlements.

Additionally, in accordance with Section 93(1)(a) of the Constitution, the following deputy ministerial appointments have been announced:

  1. Phumzile Mgcina, formerly the Deputy Minister of Labour and Employment, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources.

  2. Judith Nemadzinga-Tshabalala, previously the Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, will now serve as the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour.

President Ramaphosa emphasized that these changes are effective immediately, expressing his confidence in the capabilities of the appointees. “I wish these members of the national executive success in their new roles,” he stated.

The reshuffle aims to realign leadership responsibilities and strengthen the executive team to better address South Africa’s pressing challenges.
