The South African Police Service (SAPS) Management in the Sedibeng District has launched an investigation following allegations of stock theft involving a police sergeant from Meyerton Police Station. The allegations surfaced through a video that has been widely circulated on social media.
In response, a senior detective has been tasked to register an enquiry into these serious claims and conduct a thorough investigation.
The investigating officer, Lt Col Bodibe, is urging individuals who made the allegations to formally report the incident. They can visit any police station in Gauteng to register a case of stock theft, which is necessary for advancing the investigation.
While the enquiry is ongoing, the police require the complainant’s statement to finalize a preliminary report and officially register a criminal case.
