Makhadzi’s Performance at Kwas London Annual Fun Games and Music Festival Cancelled Over Payment Dispute
POLOKWANE – Makhadzi Entertainment has announced the cancellation of Makhadzi’s highly anticipated performance at the Kwas London Annual Fun Games and Music Festival, scheduled for December 27, 2024, due to a payment dispute with the event promoter.
In a statement released by Makhadzi Entertainment, it was revealed that promoter Ismael initially secured the award-winning artist’s performance by agreeing to the terms of a signed contract. According to the agreement, a 50% deposit was required before any promotional activities could take place, and the full balance was to be settled 14 days prior to the event.
While the promoter successfully paid the deposit along with an additional R3,000 for a promotional video, the remaining balance was not received within the stipulated timeframe. Makhadzi Entertainment emphasized that, as per their policy, artists and their teams are only informed of an event once all contractual payments have been completed.
“Unfortunately, the promoter did not meet the agreement as per the contract by failing to pay the balance within the 14-day period,” the statement read.
Makhadzi Entertainment expressed their apologies to fans in Makwasa who were eagerly anticipating the star’s performance and reassured them of their commitment to honoring future engagements under proper terms.
This cancellation highlights the importance of clear and binding agreements between artists and event organizers, particularly during the festive season, which is typically a peak time for music and entertainment.
