Johannesburg Metro Police Officer Khensani "Pukie" Mabaso, aged 32, was tragically shot and killed outside her family home in Diepkloof, Soweto, while in full uniform. Her fully marked JMPD patrol vehicle was discovered parked nearby.
The incident occurred early in the morning, and police suspect a robbery gone wrong, as her cell phone was missing from her possession. Preliminary investigations are underway, and a murder case has been opened at Diepkloof SAPS.
"The JMPD extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Mabaso. We assure them that we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice and to find the murderers of our beloved officer," said JMPD Acting Chief of Police Mr. Patrick Jaca.
Officer Mabaso, fondly known as "Pukie," is remembered as a dedicated and courageous individual who served her community with honor and distinction. Her tragic death has left both the JMPD and the Diepkloof community in mourning.
