MELODING: Following a violent altercation with his girlfriend in the early hours of Saturday, November 30, 2024, a 33-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of attempted murder.
The woman told police that she and her boyfriend were at a local tavern at around two in the morning when an unidentified male approached them. According to reports, the man asked her boyfriend for a private talk. The victim said she heard the stranger say to her boyfriend, "You can have her," during the exchange.
Her boyfriend is accused of violently grabbing her and attacking her shortly after. The abuse allegedly increased after he pulled her outside and drove her into a deserted place. According to the victim, he hit her with his car and then ran her over while she was on the ground. She was seriously hurt during the assault.
After dropping the victim off at the hospital, the man drove her there and then left. The suspect, Tshepiso Mofokeng, 33, was taken into custody by the authorities after he showed up in the Virginia Magistrate's Court today. While police continue their investigation, he is still being held.
