PARKWEG - Police in Parkweg are appealing for assistance in locating the family of a deceased male whose body was discovered in an open field near Tempe.
The grim discovery was made on 19 December 2024 at approximately 17:20 by a member of the public who was collecting wood near the Tempe Military Base. Emergency personnel and law enforcement were summoned to the scene, where the male was declared deceased.
Parkweg police recovered an identity card from the deceased’s trousers, identifying him as Ruciano Bester, a 20-year-old male according to his ID number. At the time of discovery, he was wearing dark grey trousers, a blue T-shirt, and a blue sweater.
The cause of death will be determined following the results of a pending post-mortem examination. Police have opened an inquest to further investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
