Pretoria, South Africa – A community in Soshanguve is mourning the tragic death of 46-year-old Mokhwakhwa Machete, who succumbed to injuries after his wife allegedly poured boiling water on him during a heated altercation.
The incident occurred on September 18, 2024, at the couple’s home. Machete was rushed to the hospital with severe burns but tragically passed away a week later, on September 25. The wife, 42, a former Gauteng crime prevention warden, has since been arrested. She was denied bail as investigations continue.
The couple’s three children, aged 22, 19, and 8, are said to have witnessed the harrowing event, leaving them deeply traumatized.
