A tragic incident unfolded on Todd Street in Verulam CBD, KwaZulu-Natal, where a man was found dead inside a vehicle on Saturday evening.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a distress call from a concerned member of the public at approximately 18:26, reporting an injured male. Reaction Officers were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a man, believed to be in his thirties, seated in the front passenger seat of a blue Toyota Etios sedan. The victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Both the front and rear windscreens of the car were damaged by gunfire.
Eyewitnesses stated that they observed a man park the vehicle before casually walking away. Shortly after, the victim was discovered. The vehicle, which appeared to have been involved in an accident, had its keys still in the ignition.
Authorities are working to identify the deceased, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
