Shaune Mogaila, a well-known soccer player, has surrendered to the police following a tragic accident in Tembisa on Wednesday morning that claimed the life of a nine-year-old girl. The incident occurred when the girl’s mother was driving her children to school, and their red Hyundai Grand i10 collided with Mogaila’s BMW M2 around 7:30 a.m., according to Thabiso Makgato, spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni Metro Police.
Police reportedly found empty bottles of alcohol and a white powder substance believed to be cocaine in Mogaila’s vehicle. The 29-year-old only sustained a minor bruise on his forehead.
Witnesses recounted the heartbreaking scene, describing the mother as distraught and inconsolable over the loss of her daughter. Both the mother and her 13-year-old daughter, who were trapped in their car, were eventually rescued and taken to nearby medical facilities for further care.
