In a pointed statement, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has condemned the recent decision by a Democratic Alliance (DA) Minister to authorize a visa-free agreement granting entry to South Africa for Ukrainian diplomatic, official, and service passport holders. The EFF argues that this unilateral decision disregards South Africa's foreign policy principles and undermines its standing with international allies, particularly within the BRICS alliance, which includes Russia.
Allegations of Neo-Nazi and Zionist Sympathies
The EFF's statement describes the move as “white supremacist arrogance,” accusing the DA of attempting to reposition South Africa as a pawn for Western imperialist interests. The EFF argues that the visa-free agreement is politically reckless, given Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Russia, a long-standing ally of South Africa. According to the EFF, this agreement opens the door for “Neo-Nazi operatives” and risks enabling intelligence-gathering efforts against Russia, a claim for which the party did not provide specific evidence.
The EFF also asserts that the DA’s motivations may have a pro-Zionist bent, suggesting that this agreement could be a precursor to a “Zionist exodus,” allowing entry for pro-Zionist figures seeking refuge under what it describes as a “pro-Zionist and racist DA government in the Western Cape.”

The EFF’s statement appeals directly to President Cyril Ramaphosa, urging him to refuse to ratify the agreement. The party emphasizes that such a move would serve to uphold South Africa’s diplomatic commitments to Russia and maintain its solidarity within the BRICS alliance, warning that failure to reject the agreement could strain these strategic relationships.
“We can only hope that the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, does not ratify this agreement, as it will compromise our political and diplomatic ties with Russia and our membership in BRICS,” reads the EFF statement.

The EFF labels the agreement as “treasonous” and insists that all South Africans must reject it to protect South Africa’s sovereignty.
