Eskom has submitted its revenue application for the next three financial years, with the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) approving R446 billion for the 2026 financial year, R495 billion for the 2027 financial year, and R537 billion for the 2028 financial year. The proposed average price increases for Eskom direct customers are 36.15% from April 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026, 11.81% from April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027, and 9.10% from April 1, 2027 - March 31, 2028.

Eskom's financial officer, Calib Cassim, has called for extensive public consultation about the revenue application to determine a key component in funding a constant electricity supply that drives economic growth and quality of life for years to come. Nersa will consider affordability for identified vulnerable sectors, including indigent customers and certain industrial sectors.

Eskom's revenue application is based on the costs it will incur to efficiently provide electricity to customers, and it is a critical component in ensuring the service provider continues to provide reliable electricity services while improving its financial sustainability through a migration to cost-reflective prices.
