Former Generations actor Roderick Jaftha is currently facing severe financial challenges and is appealing for assistance from South Africans. He revealed that he is struggling to pay the R2500 rent for the home he shares with his wife and children, and is also unable to provide for their basic needs, including food.
“I don’t even have food for my kids today, so I’m trying to find a way,” Jaftha shared. Known for his role as Glen Majozi on the popular soapie, the actor explained that his financial situation worsened after his wife lost her job. “I am having difficulty paying rent. I have small children, two of whom are still in school.”
Jaftha also noted the difficulties he faces in securing acting roles, stating, “Since I only speak Afrikaans and English, finding suitable roles has been a challenge. While I do get some gigs, they’re not enough to make a difference.”
Masingita Masunga, moved by Jaftha’s plight, took to Facebook to raise awareness and call for support on his behalf. Responding to the post, Jaftha expressed the emotional toll of his situation, especially when it comes to his children: “I’m feeling that pain right now, and it’s even harder because of the kids.”
