Crime prevention operations yield success in Mitchell's Plain

CAPE TOWN - Crime Prevention operations conducted by members of Operation Restore in different parts of Mitchell’s Plain yielded success on Friday, 20 September 2024.


The members followed up information gathered about drug activities in Beacon Valley and Tafelsig, Mitchell’s Plain and searched the identified premises. In Voelvlei Crescent, Tafelsig the members arrested a 40-year-old man when they found 160 small packets containing dagga, 102 dagga cigarettes and five big bags containing dagga and a undisclosed amount of cash hidden in the house. The suspect faces a charge for dealing in dagga


The members searched a premises in Drakensberg Crescent, Tafelsig and confiscated a .38 Special revolver with five rounds of ammunition. They arrested a 34-year-old man for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.


Furthermore, the members searched a premises in Clairwood Crescent, Beacon Valley and confiscated 510 small packets dagga, a big bag containing compressed dagga. A 37-year-old man was arrested for dealing in dagga.


The suspects are due to make their respective court appearances in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ court today.
