Kuda Nyabadza, founder and CEO of Kuma Consulting Engineers, has been instrumental in improving Southern Africa's civil infrastructure. Born in Zimbabwe, Nyabadza learned the importance of planning and construction at an early age, witnessing her father perform his duties as a land surveyor. She attended the National University of Science and earned an undergraduate degree in civil engineering before completing a master's in project management from South Africa's University of Pretoria. Nyabadza applied her intelligence, creativity, and leadership skills for 12 years in various engineering consulting positions, most notably as a group manager.

Currently, Nyabadza heads Kuma Consulting Engineering, overseeing the strategic direction and overall operation of projects in various sectors such as infrastructure, environment, facilities, energy, and mining and minerals. The company provides a wide array of services, including architectural design, applying modeling technology, engineering design, cost management, project management, providing IT (information technology) and security, and advising on all project planning and completion aspects.

The company recently celebrated nine years in existence, earning $20 million in annual revenue under Nyabadza's leadership. Nyabadza also oversees the Kuma Foundation Charitable Organisation, which works with schools in Zimbabwe and South Africa to provide support and educational resources to disadvantaged youths.

Nyabadza believes that Kuma Consulting Engineering is successful because its employees understand the importance of solid management and technology. They overcome complex logistical challenges through superior program management and technology-driven approaches. Nyabadza emphasizes the critical nature of grasping both client goals and community needs, contributing to the design of buildings that are enjoyable and cost-effective to construct, operate, and maintain.

Nyabadza plans to expand the company's influence into both Asian and European markets and complete her doctoral studies in business administration from the University of Northampton in England.
