Three fake data manufacturers arrested

Three individuals of Chinese nationality, including two men and one woman, are scheduled to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 4th, 2024, to face charges of fraud, illegal possession of firearms, and illegal possession of ammunition. The arrest of this group took place on July 2nd, 2024, following the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement agencies, government entities, private security firms, and forensic experts.


On receiving information about suspicious activities at two residences in Woodlands, Bloemfontein, law enforcement officers initiated a search and seizure operation, duly authorized by the court. The operation resulted in the recovery of suspected cloning machines, cash, over R1 million worth of sim cards from different service providers, two firearms, and ammunition rounds.


Major General Mokgadi Bokaba, the Free State Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), extended commendations to all involved in the operation for their dedication and collaborative efforts.
