On 08 July 2024, the city of Johannesburg, in collaboration with the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation, proudly unveiled the internationally recognized "Blue Heritage Plaques" at the late Reverend Frederick Samuel Modise's house in Meadowlands, Soweto. MMC Lubabalo Magwentshu, alongside His Grace, TS Modise, of the International Pentecost Holiness Church, revealed these plaques, signifying the profound historical significance of the house. The house holds great historical value, bridging the church's legacy and the relocation of Sophiatown residents to Meadowlands during apartheid. Historical records indicate that this house once served as the reception office for displaced Sophiatown residents relocating to Meadowlands under the Native Settlement Board. Upon arrival, these displaced residents were provided with a pint of milk and two loaves of bread before being allocated to different zones in Meadowlands based on their ethnic backgrounds. Moreover, it was within these walls that Reverend Frederick Samuel Modise initiated the church, eventually making it his home after relocating from Sophiatown. In the midst of these historic revelations, Comforter TS Modise, the current leader of the church, expressed gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon the Modise family and the entire International Pentecost Holiness church. TS Modise has also launched a foundation aimed at collaborating with various stakeholders to combat poverty and foster social cohesion within communities.
