Mpumalanga Police Follow Strong Leads in Boniswa Mabuza Disappearance Case

Mpumalanga, June 28, 2024 – In a tragic development, police in Mpumalanga are investigating strong leads following the disappearance of 36-year-old Boniswa Mabuza from Kanyamazane.

Suspect Apprehended

A suspect has been apprehended at a house located at Corner Gates Drive and Alaska Avenue Hillaria in Pienaar, Mpumalanga. During a search of the suspect’s residence, police found several belongings of Boniswa Mabuza, including a laptop, clothes, curtain, deep freezer, and tyres.

Discovery of a Shallow Grave

The suspect has directed police to a shallow grave in Luphisa, where Boniswa Mabuza was allegedly buried. A team of detectives is expected to excavate the grave today to confirm the presence of Boniswa’s remains.

Background on the Disappearance

Boniswa Mabuza was reported missing on the night of June 25, 2024, after her family failed to contact her despite multiple attempts. Concerned for her safety, they reported her missing at the Kanyamazane Police Station. Later that night, her white VW Polo was found abandoned in the bushes of Pienaar, with its wheels, a side mirror, and a backseat removed.
