Malome Vector, the award-winning Sotho rapper, has passed away. His former record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, announced the news on Wednesday evening. Three men were declared dead in an accident on the N1 near Koppies turn-off near Kroonstad, while two other people, a man and a woman, were transported to Boitumelo Regional Hospital. Vector was traveling from Gauteng to Lesotho to shoot a music video when he was involved in the accident. The other occupants of the vehicle were his musical collaborators Lizwi Wokuqala and Puleng Phoofolo. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Vector moved to Johannesburg in 2020 and signed with Ambitiouz Entertainment. He was known for hits like Ichu and Motho Waka in South Africa. In 2021, he earned the South African Music Award for Best Music Video of the Year for a collaboration with Miss Pru and Blaq Diamond. The following year, Vector released his debut album, Karabo, which featured Blaq Diamond, Intaba Yase Dubai, Wave Rhyder, Sjava, Ubuntu Band, and Ntate Stunna. He said the album was about his story, his hustle, and his answered prayers.

Vector also released his seven-track EP, 1964, earlier this year, featuring Ntate Stunna and Mlindo The Vocalist.
