Police in the Eastern Cape are offering a reward of R50,000 for any information leading to a positive outcome in the disappearance of Nakane Lizane, a four-year-old girl reported missing on May 11, 2023. Nakane was dropped off from daycare at 4pm and was playing outside with his 10-year-old brother. The mother called them inside, but only the 10-year-old brother went in. The child was reported missing at SAPS Swartkops. Numerous search parties were formed, and mass searches were conducted with the assistance of various divisions, community members, local and national media houses, private security companies, and drones used by a private company.

At the time of his disappearance, Nakane was wearing a black pair of jeans, light-coloured T-shirt, and black jacket. Police have announced a reward of R50,000 for any information leading to a positive outcome, but no new information has been forthcoming. Anyone with information is urged to contact Mluleki Mhlangani, Detective Constable Msuthukazi Nkwenkwezi, or Captain Michael Shanagan.
