Horrific Incident in Mawoti: Woman Fatally Stabbed by Partner on Her Birthday
Inanda, Durban – In a shocking act of violence, a 29-year-old mother of two, Mbali Makokone, was brutally murdered by her partner in Mawoti, eNanda, on what was supposed to be a joyous occasion celebrating her birthday. The tragic event unfolded as Mbali’s partner invited her and their children to his house under the guise of a small birthday celebration.
Mbali, excited about the day, took her children and visited the partner's home, not suspecting the horror that awaited her. After leaving to purchase some items for the party, she returned to find herself in a life-threatening situation. Her partner viciously attacked her with a knife, stabbing her multiple times, including in the neck, leading to her untimely death.
The gruesome scene was discovered when the children returned home alone, traumatized and reporting that their father was assaulting their mother. Alarmed by the children’s account, the family immediately contacted the police. Upon arrival, the authorities were met with a horrifying sight: the perpetrator sitting next to Mbali's lifeless body, casually eating meat despite being covered in her blood.
When the police proceeded to arrest him, he callously demanded to wear warm clothing before accompanying them, showing a chilling lack of remorse for his heinous actions.
Community in Shock
The brutal nature of the crime has left the Mawoti community in deep shock and mourning. Neighbors and friends of Mbali have expressed their disbelief and sorrow, struggling to comprehend the senseless violence that took her life.
