ActionSA's 2024 election results disappoint Steenhuisen

DA leader John Steenhuisen is disappointed by how ActionSA is performing in the 2024 general elections. Steenhuisen told reporters at the National Results Operations Centre in Midrand he does not believe that ActionSA will deliver on the promise they made to the Moonshot pact.

John Steenhuisen expressed his disappointment with ActionSA, stating that they had promised to bring 10.56%, which does not seem likely to materialize. However, he emphasized that it is still early and suggested waiting for other results to come in. This pact represents the opposition's effort to unite and prevent the ANC from gaining power after the elections.

Steenhuisen made a statement about Rise Mzansi, led by Songezo Zibi, criticizing their supposed influence. He mentioned the media's predictions about Rise Mzansi and Bosa taking over from the DA, emphasizing the need to wait for the final vote count before deciding on a coalition. As of noon on Friday, 60.05% of votes had been counted. The ANC had secured 41.88% of votes, making them the leading party, while the DA followed with 23.11%. The MK Party had surpassed the EFF, becoming the third largest party with 11.60% of the votes.
