Fidelis Moema, the baby daddy of social media influencer Sthe Bhengu, has been arrested on charges of theft, fraud, and money laundering. Moema, 32, surrendered himself to the Hawks' Serious Commercial Crimes Investigation team in Johannesburg on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Moema, who worked as a bursary specialist at KPMG, is accused of misdirecting funds meant for bursary recipients between 2021 and 2022. Instead of paying university fees for students, Moema allegedly deposited the money into the bank accounts of friends and individuals who own companies. The funds were then transferred back to his personal bank account. KPMG has suffered a loss of R16.5 million as a result of Moema's actions.

It is reported that Moema used the misappropriated funds to buy a Range Rover for his girlfriend, Sthe Bhengu, take her on a luxurious trip to Santorini, Greece, and even organize a helicopter gender reveal.

Moema's arrest sheds light on the importance of proper financial oversight and controls to prevent such fraudulent activities. The case remains under investigation by the South African Police Service. SAPS
