SuperSport United player Lyle Lakay has revealed that Kaizer Chiefs teenage sensation Mfundo Vilakazi has apologised for showing him the middle finger during his side's 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs. The incident was subject to much scrutiny on social media, with Bafana Bafana team manager Vincent Tseka suggesting that the young man should forget about the incident. However, Lakay responded that the matter was already water under the bridge as Vilakazi had already apologised.
Fans also criticized Vilakazi, with @Gibeni blasting him as rude and disrespectful. Vilakazi, who is 18 years old, is expected to move past the incident as Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson has tipped him to start some matches for the Glamour Boys as the season comes to an end. He has recently signed a new long-term contract with Chiefs, which will keep him at the club until 2028. Vilakazi's talent and discipline are expected to be crucial for his success in the game.
