Inkwenkwezi Netball Club, a newly formed initiative in Weston, Hankey, is set to host a fundraising tournament on March 30, 2024, at Weston Sportsfield. Starting at 09:00 for registrations, the game aims to raise funds for the club to acquire its first netball kit.
Founded on February 9, 2024, by Mrs. CN Ndlaleni, a member of the Weston Community and a Pastor, Inkwenkwezi Netball Club has a noble mission. Mrs Ndlaleni, who currently serves as the Coach and Chairperson of the club, initiated its formation to provide a constructive outlet for teens in the area. With high statistics of substance and drug abuse, the club's primary goal is to keep youth engaged and away from the streets. "Inkwenkwezi" translates to "The Stars," symbolising the club's aspiration for its members to shine brightly in the future.
The fundraising tournament not only aims to secure a complete netball kit for the club's two teams but also seeks to raise awareness about substance and drug abuse and domestic violence. By organising such an event, Mrs Ndlaleni and the Inkwenkwezi Netball Club demonstrate their commitment to youth development and community upliftment.
Participants and supporters of the tournament are encouraged to join in this worthy cause and contribute to the success of the Inkwenkwezi Netball Club. Together, they can make a difference in the lives of the youth and work towards a brighter, safer future for all.
