Last night, IPSS Search and Rescue responded to reports of a vehicle swept away in the Msunduzi River near Henley Dam in Pietermaritzburg. Due to adverse weather conditions and limited visibility, the search was delayed until this morning. The community and SANDF successfully retrieved the vehicle from the river, discovering the bodies of an adult female and a young child, later handed over to SAPS. Unfortunately, an adult male remains missing. IPSS Search and Rescue, in collaboration with Port Shepstone SAPS Search and Rescue, START Rescue, Metro Police Search and Rescue, and Mi7, are currently engaged in river searches to locate the missing man.
