Authorities, comprising a collaborative effort between multiple police divisions and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), acted upon crucial information following a series of recent CIT heists within the eThekwini District.
Acting on intelligence, law enforcement officers pinpointed a residence on the corner of Queen Nandi Drive and Sikhindi Road in KwaMashu, suspected to be a sanctuary for the wanted criminals.
Upon announcing their presence, the suspects immediately opened fire, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire between the law enforcement officials and the assailants.
Tragically, all four suspects sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the confrontation. The deceased individuals, two of whom hailed from the Limpopo province, were discovered in possession of a cache of weapons, including an AK47 assault rifle, an R5 rifle, and two pistols, along with a significant amount of ammunition.
Additionally, the police uncovered a substantial quantity of explosives, multiple vehicle license plates (some of which were registered in Limpopo), and signal jammers among the suspects' possessions.

However, the police have confirmed that their work is not yet complete, as an ongoing manhunt is in progress to apprehend any remaining suspects associated with this criminal network.
