Law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene, discovering that the two vehicles had collided. According to the preliminary report, the Greyhound bus was traveling southbound towards Reddersburg and allegedly failed to heed a stop sign, leading to a collision with the eastbound Volkswagen Polo.
The impact caused the Polo to overturn, resulting in three occupants being ejected from the vehicle, while the driver and another passenger remained trapped inside. Emergency services were immediately summoned, but tragically, all five occupants of the Volkswagen Polo were pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver sustained injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
The authorities have initiated a case of culpable homicide, and the investigation is ongoing. As of now, the identities of the deceased remain unknown.
