Quavo, a prominent figure in the hip-hop world and one-third of the renowned group Migos, has released his highly anticipated solo album, titled "Rocket Power." The project, which hit streaming platforms on August 18, features a heartfelt tribute to the late TakeOff, a member of Migos who tragically passed away in November 2022.

TakeOff's legacy lives on through his uncredited verses on the album's tracks. He makes poignant appearances on "Patty Cake" and joins forces with Future on "Back Where It Begins." These verses carry an emotional weight, serving as a reminder of TakeOff's unique voice and lyrical prowess. In addition to the collaborations with TakeOff, "Rocket Power" boasts an impressive lineup of features, including incarcerated rapper Young Thug, Hunxho, and Baby Drill. Quavo's choice of production partners also enhances the album's sonic landscape, with contributions from DJ Durel, Wheezy, Murda Beatz, BNYX, Buddah Bless, and Pooh Beatz.

The album opens with a subtle yet powerful tribute to TakeOff. His voice can be heard saying, "Do this shit for the fam because this shit bigger than me!" in the uncredited intro track "Fueled Up." Quavo's decision to incorporate TakeOff's voice sets a reflective tone for the album and underscores the significance of their bond.

To celebrate the release of "Rocket Power," Quavo hosted an exclusive album listening party for his fans in New York City on August 18. The event took place at the Hayden Planetarium, where attendees experienced the album in a unique and immersive setting. Quavo took the opportunity to share his feelings about TakeOff and express his gratitude for the support of his fans.

"Long live the Rocket," Quavo proclaimed during the listening session. "It’s only right that we got to do this the right way. We powered up. I feel like I’m an instrument right now. It’s an out-of-body experience."

The album release marks approximately 10 months since the tragic loss of TakeOff, who was fatally shot outside a Houston bowling alley. Quavo's dedication to preserving TakeOff's legacy is evident not only in the verses incorporated into "Rocket Power" but also in his plans for a posthumous project dedicated solely to TakeOff.

In a candid YouTube interview series posted on his channel, Quavo revealed that he has been cautious and respectful when using TakeOff's unreleased material. "I used a couple unreleased verses, but I want to keep his stuff very, very, very sacred right now for his project," Quavo explained. He emphasized his commitment to honoring TakeOff's wishes and maintaining the integrity of his work. Source: HipHopDX
