Ace's passion for filmmaking started at a young age, but he never had the opportunity to pursue formal training in the field. However, his love of learning and curiosity about how things work led him to find ways of teaching himself new skills on his own time. He became a self-taught camera operator and video editor and started working in film and TV production over 10 years ago.
Ace's talent and hard work were soon recognized by reputable broadcasting brands in South Africa, including SABC, ETV, and the corporate sector. However, Ace knew that he wanted to do more than just work for others. He had a vision of creating his own production company and making a difference in his community.
In 2014, Ace's dream became a reality when he registered his own production company, VITA TV & EVENTS. Over the years, Ace has seen the impact of giving visual content to a company's communication tools. He started to build his own professional relationships, which helped him to establish his own brand and create a niche in the market.
One of Ace's biggest dreams is to establish a Youth Development Programme for the disadvantaged youth in his township. The programme aims to provide aspiring filmmakers, who are storytellers and actors but may not have had the privilege of going to film school, with the necessary skills and opportunities to succeed in the industry. The programme hosts a series of skills development and empowerment workshops that equip the youth with the tools they need to succeed.
Ace is also quick to credit his mentor, Jerry Tsie, for his success. Jerry is a legend in the film industry and has been Ace's producer, father, and friend. Jerry's guidance and shared experiences have been invaluable to Ace.
