On Tuesday, April 18th, 2023, a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing a man violently assaulting a woman on the side of the road in Mgababa, a township near Durban, South Africa. The video was shared by a page called @VehicleTrackerz and quickly circulated on social media platforms.

According to a witness who was at a birthday party with the couple, the incident started at the party. The witness, who knows the couple, saw the video on social media after the incident occurred. He was shocked by what he saw and took to Twitter to share his account of what happened.

"Haibo guys, I know these people, we were together on Tuesday eMgababa, the fight started there," he tweeted. "I took the gf with 3 kids, the guy came with this black Hyundai, I dropped off the gf with other people Emakethe then went home, we told him to stop mixing bevs." The witness explained that the boyfriend was mixing different types of alcohol at the party, which led to an argument between the couple. The witness was no longer at the scene when the physical altercation took place and was unsure how it escalated to what was shown in the video.
