Naked eYe, also known as The Beat Bender, is a versatile Hip-Hop artist and indie producer whose music is both inspiring and thought-provoking. His lyrics revolve around knowledge of self and are centered around African Spirituality, with a unique blend of Sesotho and English that seamlessly navigates between the two.With an impressive catalogue of music that spans over a decade, Naked eYe has made a name for himself as one of the most creative and innovative artists in the game. His music has been compared to some of the greatest artists in the Hip-Hop industry, such as Stogie T, Black Thought (of The Roots), Common, Talib Kweli, M.anifest, Busta Rhymes, and more. As a beatmaker and producer, Naked Eye draws inspiration from some of the industry's best, including Jay Dilla, Madlib, Kev Brown, Apollo Brown, Timbaland, and others. Naked eYe has been a force in the music industry for several years, both as a solo artist and as part of the group One-2. In 2009/10, One-2 was nominated for the MTN Hype Awards, and they released three projects (albums), largely produced by Naked Eye. As a solo artist, Naked eYe has released four studio projects, including RANDOM BARS Vol.1 (HEARTOUT MIXTAPE) in 2013, BEAT BENDING SESSIONS Vol. 1 (feat. Beat Oven) in 2013, PIPEDREAMS DELIGHT in 2017, and RANDOM BARS Vol.2 (RHYME CALLIGRAPHED) in 2021. His music has been well received by fans and critics alike, with many lauding his ability to combine introspective lyrics with soulful, head-nodding beats. In 2017, Naked eYe teamed up with super producer VinceBlack of the trance/electro group THE PHAT ONES to form THE BLACK eYe PROJECT, and they released their first offering, "NOT AN INTRO" EP. The duo even embarked on a self-funded tour named "RANDOM BARS AND BEATS TOUR" in mid-2017, traveling across South Africa to perform for their fans.
Naked eYe has performed in several countries, including Botswana, Swaziland, and Zanzibar (Tanzania). He even did a ONE MAN SHOW (THE RAP-A-TOUR) at the JOBURG THEATER, where he wowed audiences with his unique style and sound. He has shared stages with some of the world's most celebrated artists, including HHP, ProVerb, Skwatta Kamp, Last Days Fam, Reason, Tumi, Sake Of Skill, Khuli Chana, Optical Illusion, Hymphatic Thabs, The Soil, Driemanskap, Zakwe, PRO, AKA, Size Killa(Swaziland), Mista Monk (Australia), Elf Tranzporter (of WOMBAT COMBAT from USA/AUSTRALIA), and many others.
