The South African government provides various social handouts to nearly 16 million South African people each month. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) distributes these funds to those who do not have the financial resources to maintain themselves.
If you are or know someone who is a SASSA beneficiary, you may be asking when the applicable award payments would be issued. The following is a list of the SASSA payment schedule for the months of February and March 2023 (additional payment dates have not yet been announced):
April 2023:
Grant for Senior Citizens/Pensioners: Tuesday, April 4, 2023
Disability Allowance: Wednesday, April 5, 2023
Other Grants: Thursday, April 6, 2023
When SASSA releases payment dates, they will be posted here. Payments are typically paid in the first week of the month (expect payment dates to be between 1 and 6 May 2023).
