According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner's office, singer Aaron Carter drowned in his bathtub in November after inhaling compressed gas and taking alprazolam.

Carter, a former adolescent idol who rose to popularity in the 1990s and recently spoke out about mental health struggles and drug use, died Nov. 5 at the age of 34 at his Lancaster, California, home.

According to the medical examiner's office, the cause of death was drowning caused by the effects of the gas, difluoroethane, and alprazolam.

The incident was declared an accident.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies were summoned to Carter's residence shortly before 11 a.m. on Nov. 5, according to officials.

According to the medical examiner's findings, Carter was discovered immersed in a bathtub, and doctors pronounced him dead at the spot.

According to the ME's study, difluoroethane is a gas present in air spray cleansers for electronic gadgets that may be misused to create pleasure. According to the paper, when purposefully ingested, it might induce rapid cardiac arrest. Alprazolam, often known as Xanax, is a benzodiazepine that can cause drowsiness.

The passing of Carter, the "I Want Candy" singer, prompted a flood of condolences from celebrities, including "Lizzie McGuire" actress Hilary Duff and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" actor Melissa Joan Hart.
