As food supplies run short, he is forced to eat dog food and suffers from tooth decay. He finds a secret compartment with a bible and a smoke alarm, which he sets off in an attempt to get help. After singing a song and reading a passage from the bible, he leaves the art collector a note apologizing for breaking into his house, before succumbing to starvation and dying.
