On Monday, Ramokgopa and other top officials visited the Kriel and Duvha Power Stations in Mpumalanga, completing the first phase of his journey.

On Tuesday, they are scheduled to tour the Kusile and Kendal power plants.

Tutuka and Camden stations will be closed on Wednesday, and Lethabo station will be closed on Thursday.

He will fly to the Western Cape on Friday to see the Ankerlig open cycle gas turbine and the Koeberg power facility.

He has also visited with Chen Xiaodong, the Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, to examine possible areas of partnership to eliminate the rolling blackouts.

The leaders discussed obtaining technical skills, demand-side management intervention in relation to supply, educating young people to fulfill demand for solar PV installations, and the implementation of microgrids and smart grids.
